Our Collaborations & Projects
SHE Consulting team has been currently working with multiple organisations within India & internationally in the similar ecosystem.
Some of our current partners & programmes are as below,
UK Experience
UK Simulation Centre Standards and Accreditation
Prof Purva is the lead author of the National Standards for Simulation-Based Education (2016) for all healthcare professionals in the UK. This was the first policy document to incorporate standards from all major professional bodies, offering a unified and comprehensive framework. In 2017, Prof Purva authored the UK's first national accreditation process for simulation centres, simulation educators, and simulation-based programmes under the Association of Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH). This process is now a benchmark for quality assessment, widely adopted across the UK and internationally.
Leadership Programmes
- MSc in Healthcare Improvement Leadership: Designed in collaboration with Hull University, this course requires each healthcare professional to lead and implement a quality improvement project within their own organisation, directly impacting patient care.
- MSc in Clinical Simulation: Co-developed with Hull University, this master's programme was recognised in 2013 by the Royal College of Physicians (Acute Medicine Curriculum Committee) for developing teaching skills in physicians. It integrates advanced simulation pedagogy with clinical education.
National Curriculum Development Using Simulation
Enhancing UK Core Medical Training Through Simulation-Based Education: An Evidence-Based Approach (Joint JRCPTB & HEE Working Committee Report). Prof Purva led this pivotal policy initiative, conducting a literature review of nearly 30,000 articles and producing evidence-based recommendations that mandated simulation training for all core medical trainees through the Royal College of Physicians, UK.
Training Courses
- Standardised Simulation Course for Foundation Doctors (House Surgeons): Focused on crisis resource management and error-handling skills, this course prepares early-career doctors for real emergencies on the ward.
- Undergraduate Simulation Elective: The first of its kind in the UK, this elective module was dedicated to developing medical student competencies in simulation delivery and structured debriefing.
- Multidisciplinary Mandatory Human Factors Courses: Developed for and delivered to key clinical cohorts—Nurses and Midwives, Paediatricians and Obstetricians. These courses use simulation and debriefing to explore cognitive biases, communication breakdowns, and team dynamics in critical care settings.
- Tailored Specialist Courses: Numerous maternity-focused simulation programmes designed to suit specialty and sub-specialty needs — one exemplar is described below. Saving Mothers’ Lives — Human Factors Approach.
This programme uses high-fidelity simulation to recreate obstetric emergencies involving complex maternal scenarios. Built on real-life cases, it offers immersive experiences across multidisciplinary teams.
India and Other International Projects
National Collaborations and Government Approved Initiatives
- Large-Scale Government CPR Project (Tamil Nadu, India): Under the leadership of Prof. Purva, SHE Consulting is implementing a state-wide CPR training and research initiative in collaboration with the Government of Tamil Nadu. This project is being carried out in partnership with senior IAS officers and key government bodies, including:
- Dr. P. Senthilkumar I.A.S, Health Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu (who formally approved the project)
- Dr. A. Arun Thamburaj I.A.S, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM)
- Thiru M. Arvind I.A.S, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation (TNMSC)
- Dr. T.S. Selvavinayagam, Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (DPH)
- Simulation Centre Standards: Prof Purva collaborated with the Health Sector Skills Council (HSSC), India, to develop an accreditation framework for simulation centres in India — the first government-led initiative toward simulation standardisation in the country.
- ASPiH Accreditation Support: Advised and supported Yenepoya Medical College (Mangalore), Apollo Simulation Centre (Chennai), and Symbiosis University Simulation Centre, Pune — the first centres in India to achieve ASPiH Accreditation, demonstrating commitment to international quality benchmarks.
The initiative targets government school students across Tamil Nadu, embedding compression-only CPR (CoCPR) skills through evidence-based simulation training. The project includes curriculum development, faculty training, skill assessment, and long-term community impact tracking. It positions Tamil Nadu as a national leader in lifesaving public health education by equipping students with critical emergency response skills and cultivating a culture of early intervention and community resilience.
The project received formal approval from the Health Secretary after a series of high-level deliberations involving all of the above senior officials. These consultations ensured a robust, multi-departmental foundation for successful implementation, stakeholder alignment, and long-term sustainability.
Structured into three phases — Pilot, Validation, and Full-scale Rollout — the initiative includes curriculum localisation, trainer development, feedback-enabled training, and community-level impact tracking.
International Conferences & Programmes
- ASPiH International Simulation Conference (Aug 2024): Co-hosted by SHE Consulting and Sri Ramachandra Institute (Chennai), with endorsement from the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council.
- Planning underway with Symbiosis Medical University (Pune) to host the International Festival of Simulation (2026), featuring keynote speakers from global simulation networks.
Leadership Programmes
- Simulation Fellowship Programme: Six-month intensive programme launched in partnership with SGT University, India and Laerdal Medical, India — first of its kind in the country. Delivered by international faculty since January 2025.
Training Courses
- QUeST Programme: Ongoing delivery of Quality Improvement and In-Situ Simulation Training over the past two years, in collaboration with Apollo Simulation Centre, Chennai.
- Faculty Development Programme (FDP): Regular design and delivery of Faculty Development Programmes in collaboration with Indian medical institutions, tailored to strengthen local simulation capacity.
- Simulation Technician Course: Ongoing development of simulation technician curriculum with Indian universities to standardise operational support and align with global technician competencies.
- CPR Training for School Students: Led by SHE Consulting in partnership with the Tamil Nadu School Ministry, this flagship programme is being scaled to reach 100,000 students. Designed to embed life-saving CPR skills into school education systems across Tamil Nadu.
Simulation Centre Design
Full support provided for the redesign of the simulation centre at Gulf Medical University, UAE, aligning infrastructure with the demands of super-specialty courses and competency-driven simulation models.
